Accessibility
The firm aims for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA, and to be as easy to read for everyone as its printed documents have always been.

What we do
- Every page works without JavaScript, at any width down to that of a small phone, and with the text enlarged to twice its size.
- Text meets a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background, and links are underlined.
- Every drawing has a text description, and every plate a caption that says what the drawing shows.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Nothing on the site moves, flashes or plays on its own.
- Each page is tested with an automated checker at desktop and phone widths before it is published.
Earlier editions
From time to time a visitor may see a page in the style of an earlier edition of this site. Earlier editions have been restyled to meet the same standard as the current one. A notice at the top of the page, and a link in its small print, return the page to the current edition.
